Now I’m not the most enviromentally friendly guy around but I do my bit by recycling my beer bottles and cardboard etc etc. They really don’t even make it easy where I live so I figure I’m doing ok. There are a few places in life where I really draw the line. We buy top notch toilet paper - not that crap that’s 80% recycled cardboard fiber. There are a few other items as well but the point of this post is highlight an anti-environment battle I recently won.
Let’s just say that environmentally friendly dishwasher soap SUCKS. I always suspected it but my wife wouldn’t believe me and continued to buy it. The reason we even started having this battle was that our dishes rarely came out clean and the dishwasher wasn’t draining well inspite of my regular cleaning of the food catcher thing. My wife simply preferred to constantly tell me that we had a crappy dishwasher. Of course, no way in hell, am I buying a new dishwasher. This one has only been used for 6 months.
Fast forward to tonight. My wife calls me over and asks if I cleaned out the food catcher thing. I said no as I took a look to see there was no food in there and no standing water. I believe I said. “hmph. Wonder what happened…”
My wife at this point admits to having broke down and finally used some horrifically, terrible, unenvironmental dish soap.
