I Don’t Understand Decorating

by oilman on August 13, 2008

I walked into the half bath on the main floor the other day and found this:

Sticks In Water

Sticks In Water

Yep - that’s a handful of sticks in a bottle half full of water. I don’t get it. I could maybe get on board with sticks in a bottle for some aesthetic purpose that is beyond my male brain but the water? They’re not gonna grow…

Can somebody explain it?

I was at my neighbor’s house and his wife has sticks in a bottle half full of water too. Is this a trend?

It’s not just any ‘ol water…it’s smelly water. You know…to smell pretty :)

oilman, you’re phunny dude! Those are called Reed Diffusers and what you refer to as water is usually a sweet feminine scent of some sort. Come on now, Daddy’s are supposed to know that stuff. Get with the program!

Have you Manscaped lately?

@pageoneresults I went and had a sniff and yeah - you and @kristy are right - smells nice. Until today I’ve never heard of a reed diffuser but I count myself a better dad/husband for now having that knowledge…

manscaped? uh..I’m gonna say no…

@oilman, keep the kids away from them… I believe most aren’t “water based.” They sure as hell cost more than water too! Twenty bucks plus shipping from your new favorite website:

They still don’t compare to a good ‘ole match for quality and value!

Well now…I sort of fancy myself (no that’s not the end of the sentence) as an artistic type, but to be honest I was as bemused as you over those reeds Oilman…and I’m married to a fashion designer (believe me that can be confusing at the best of times when your opinion is required for the latest flight of fancy).

Takes some feminine types to put us on the right road. Just get used to saying ‘yes sweetheart I looove it!’…it’s just easier that way.
